Mexico’s Exports

At the following map you can see Mexico’s exports over time. Mexican exports reached a total of 397 billion dollars in 2014, most of which were directed to the United States (319 billion dollars).

What is strange though is that oil does not account for most of these exports, at least as I would have expected. Mexico is competing with Saudi Arabia for the second place in the list with the largest oil suppliers of the United States. Canada is by far the largest oil supplier of the US.

At the following table you can see the most important Mexican exports. Vehicles, electronic equipment and machines account for almost 230 billion of the exported value, while oil accounts only for 42 billion dollars.
